Name: William
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Appearance: He's tall and rather thin. He has long, curly brown hair and isn't extremely weak looking or extremely strong. His eyes are dark brown, with a few specks eerily verging on red. He's very handsome.
Personality: William is very ambitious. He wants to be powerful, and he wants to be wanted and loved. However, he has a kind streak. Whenever somebody seems to care for him, he will be very nice to them. However, if people don't make a good first impression they just might become his enemy.....
History: William's father was a blacksmith. His mother left the family after he was born, to do what he doesn't know. All his father wanted was someone to follow in his trade. He didn't like his 'weak, skinny son.' All William was interested in was books. He wanted to learn, yes, but mostly it was a refuge. His dad didn't let him go out much, so he never really had any friends. And when his father got angry, which he did often, William hid from the world-- he read.
When William did visit the rest of the world, he found that it seemed to hate him. He didn't look all that good in his early years. His appearance was basically the medieval version of a nerd now. When he tried to make friends, he didn't know what to talk about. They judged his appearance. He seemed very awkward.
He became convinced that the world hated him.
When William turned 1-, his father sent him away to a school to do 'some more filthy reading so that you get out of my way,' as his dad said.
So that's what he did. He met people, and talked to men and women who could keep up with him. When he was a bit older, he met a girl and fell in love. He befriended her friends and had quite a good time.
Until, of course, she broke up with him and he 'overreacted.' Then he was alone again.
The next few years were lonely ones. He had fascinating discussions with his professors, but those were it. When he was 16, he graduated from the school and got himself hired to write a book for the heir to the kingdom, a girl around his age, about the recent history of Makala.
He used the money supplied to him by his new employers to buy some land by a river, where he built a small cottage and began a lonely life.
Until, walking down a river, he found a strange bag. It contained scrolls in a foreign language and a strange amulet. He spent the next few months looking at the scrolls in his spare time. When he finished the book, he dismissed the offer to write another one. Instead, he studied the scrolls. After 2 years he had learned the language. He then examined the amulet and discovered that if he spoke words in the language, which he called Amula, he could cause strange things to happen.
Magic.
The man became ambitious. Why should that girl, the heir, have the kingdom? He was much better, smarter, than anyone else. People just hated him because he was jealous.
He wanted more. And so our story begins.
